I'm back!
I haven't posted since the summer and I finally got around to it! My last post was in I think the summer. I have made a new years resolution to post more. I have exams in a week, they crept up on me sooner than I had expected. I have an exam in English, math, french and science. They are wierdly scheduled, the first one 1:00 and the second is 9:00 but at least I get to sleep in a little from my seven o'clock start. I just got hooked by Jim.D.Macdonald and Debra Doyle's I have read the prequal and the first two and I'm getting the rest. They are really good but they remind me a little of Star Wars. I think because there are lots of fights and spaceships and swordfights. The characters and plot are a lot better than star wars though. I also just got into Waler John williams' "Dread empires fall" books. It was minus 23 with windchill making it minus 34 the last couple of days and that is too cold!

The Price of the Stars is one of my all-time favorite science fiction books, so I think you've got great taste!

We were getting it as cold as you have without windchill, but it was with windchill. I don't envy you your weather.

You read _The Gathering Flame_ first? I usually suggest that people start with _The Price of the Stars_, just because it's so cool when you realize that your assumptions about the family in the first three were wrong, wrong, wrong because of the stuff in _The Gathering Flame_.

Of course it reminds you of _Star Wars_: it's "Han and Leia have kids who grow up and have adventures," only much more complicated and interesting.

I *love* these books, and I'm really glad you're enjoying them too.

You'd like their _Knight's Wyrd_ too.
